The Atlantic Coast
The Atlantic Coast offers a wide range
of possibilities.
San Clemente del Tuyú, Santa Teresita and Mar de Ajó
are places where families enjoy the sea and the beach.
San Bernardo, Pinamar and Villa Gesell are mainly visited by young
people.
Cariló, Mar de las Pampas and Mar Azul are the preferred
choice of persons who want to enjoy the silence and the open space
of the surrounding woods and dunes.
The city of Mar del Plata, the most popular place, presents a mixture
of urban culture and natural resort. It is a typical place for the
Argentinians to spend their summer holidays. Every year the famous
International Festival of Cinema takes place in this town at the
Atlantic Coast.
The sea resorts of the south, namely Necochea, Orense, Claromecó
and Monte Hermoso with their unforgettable sunsets, are lying at
the most temperate coast of the Atlantic Ocean.
The Península Valdés welcomes every spring a big number
of whales passing by the Southern Coast of Argentina. In the national
preserved park you can watch sea animals like penguins, seals ,
sea elefants, seals and many birds.

The North
The north of Argentina with the dry areas in the mountains is
where the indigenous population lives. Their culture has got a long
tradition which they maintain and protect since the pre-columbic
time. In the north you can learn about their architecture, celebrations,
rituals and meals.
The famous "Train to the Clouds" takes you from the north
of the country to the Andes.
The trip seems to go up to heaven, passing along the way small Andean
villages and ruins of thousand year old civilizations that have
mysteriously disappeared, until reaching the "Viaducto de la
Polvorilla" at 4220 meters above sea level in San Antonio de
los Cobres.
There
are also thermal springs and baths in the multicolour heaps and
valleys of this beautiful region.
The Iguazú Falls in the northern province of Misiones, is
another touristic highlight, with 275 cascades falling from a height
of 40 up to 80 meters.
In the same province the incredible ruins of San Ignacio and Santa
Ana are the last testimony of the great era of the order of Jesuits.
